Father Patrick Emmanuel

This page is dedicated to the memory of our dearly missed priest, the late Father Patrick Emmanuel who tragically died following a fire at the presbytery in the early hours of Maundy Thursday, 12th April 2001. His sudden loss left our parish stunned.

Father Pat was born on 7th May 1951, and trained in both India and his native Sri Lanka where he was ordained in 1975. He came to England in 1983 to escape the anti-Catholic terrorism in Sri Lanka.

Fr. Pat joined our parish at Peacehaven in 1998, and became a much loved and respected member. He will be most remembered for his big smile, and for trying to unite our parish in helping us to help ourselves, something we are now forced to put into practice.
