Priest biography
Fr. Patrick Kenny (Former Parish Priest)

Fr. Kenny came to us in 1987 and was with the parish till 1991.
Fr. Kenny used to be a teacher till he received his vocation relatively late in life.
During his time here he saw to it that one side of the church had double glazed windows.
He was also greatly devoted to Our Lady and during his time the Kearons became the organisers
of the annual pilgrimages to Lourdes, and Mike Kearon started the sponsored 'Lourdes walk' for funding.
Fr. Kenny was also keen on study for all, and so played a large role in Scripture studies at the presbytery.
He was responsible aswell for continuing the S.V.P. tradition: the housebound were brought to
Sunday mass and afterwards treated to refreshments in the hall. And during the Summer the elderly
and sick would be taken on an outing. But sadly this tradition has ended due to the poor health of the helpers!
Fr. Kenny was transferred to Staplefield in 1991, and is nowadays to be found at St. Wilfrid's Presbytery, Angmering, Littlehampton, West Sussex.
